Les Miserables: The Arena Spectacular /
Brisbane Entertainment Centre

When the 2012 film adaption of Les Miserables was theatrically released, my whole life changed. I was addicted to its soundtrack, the costumes (and Eddie Redmayne). And out of every musical I ventured into, I knew that watching Les Miserables live would be an absolute dream.

So in late 2024 - a mere 6 months before the show - I bought tickets to the second matinee of Les Miserables: The Arena Spectacular. I had also never been to Brisbane Entertainment Centre before so it was also an adventure to explore north Brisbane.

And it was beyond anything I could have imagined. The vocals gave me goosebumps, the live orchestra took my breath away and I was speechless when Matt Lucas appeared on stage.

This was truly a core memory for me and reminded me why I love the theatre.

Below, you’ll find photos of the empty stage and lighting, as well as the cast’s bows.
